A group is used to speaking through shared sentences and finds it difficult to make a request.

I propose small exercises of clarity: indicate interlocutor, need and margin of choice. In the example, asking for a comparison is different from publishing a sentence that everyone must interpret.

Not every situation allows for direct dialogue, especially when security is lacking. Where possible, learning to speak respectfully reduces the burden of deciphering signals and allows people to answer a recognizable question.
