A software deals correctly with ordinary operations but does not foresee a particular situation. I propose that we recognize the exception and activate a different procedure.
In the example, the operator does not force inaccurate data just to complete the form. The system must be able to report what it does not understand.
The quality of the process also concerns cases outside the standard path. A documented and competent manual solution may be necessary, without any exception being considered a user error.
